  2.                            IMPORTANT NOTICE
  3.                        ************************
  4.              Before running LineDrive for the first time, make sure that 
  5.         you are familiar with the contents of this file.
  6.  
  7.              LineDrive  requires the following  minumum  requirements:
  8.              
  9.              720 KB OF FREE DISK SPACE. This can be free space on
  10.         a  hard disk, two 360 kb 5.25 inch disk  drives,  1 
  11.         3.5 inch disk drive, or one 1.2 meg or one 1.44 meg 
  12.         disk drive. (NOTE: a league of up to 6 teams can be set up on
  13.         a single 360 kb floppy drive.)

  15.              A COLOR MONITOR. This can be CGA, EGA or VGA.

  17.              YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING STATEMENTS IN THE CONFIG.SYS
  18.         FILE ON YOUR BOOT DISK OR THE ROOT DIRECTORY OF YOUR HARD DISK:
  19.                       FILES = 10
  20.                       BUFFERS = 25
  21.              These are minumum requirements. If the number of Files and 
  22.         Buffers specified in your config.sys exceeds these numbers that's 
  23.         fine. If you don't have enough files it is a simple procedure to 
  24.         add the above statements to your CONFIG.SYS file. Simply load your
  25.         current CONFIG.SYS file (found in the root directory of your
  26.         hard disk or boot-up diskette) into your favorite word
  27.         processor and add the above lines. MAKE SURE YOU SAVE THE FILE
  28.         IN THE ASCII FORMAT (there will instructions on saving an
  29.         ASCII file in your word processor). DOS 5 users can use the
  30.         EDIT program that came with DOS 5. EDIT automatically saves
  31.         in the ASCII format.

  33.              LineDrive Fantasy Baseball (hereafter referred to as LineDrive) 
  34.         is copyrighted software - it is not now and never has been in the
  35.         public domain.
  36.              Every release of LineDrive comes in two versions, the ShareWare 
  37.         or Evaluation Version and the Registered Version.
  38.              The ShareWare Version of LineDrive is intended for evaluation 
  39.         purposes. The ShareWare Version is fully enabled so that all areas 
  40.         of the program may be tested. Registered owners get laser printed
  41.         documentation and a free copy of the program LineDrive General
  42.         Manager which makes player trades and allows you to sign free agents.

  44.              Before running the SETUP program make sure that the following 
  45.         files are in the drive/directory that you will start the program 
  46.         from:
  47.              SETUP.EXE
  48.              TITLE.scn
  49.              LD.exe   (LineDrive the program)
  50.              LD.hlp   (the help file)
  51.              GM.EXE (registered version only - the General Manager's program)

  53.              If disk space is a problem (ie you are using a 360 kb floppy
  54.              disk) you can start with just SETUP.EXE and LD.HLP on the disk.
  55.              After SETUP runs it will delete itself. You may then copy
  56.              the LD.EXE and TITLE.SCN programs to the disk.
  57.  
  58.             The ShareWare Version of LineDrive may be copied and distributed 
  59.    to others subject to the following conditions:
  60.             No charge may be made for LineDrive itself. Any fees collected for
  61.       the sale of diskettes containing LineDrive must be clearly stated as
  62.       being for materials and/or handling charges. The cost of the disk
  63.       containing LineDrive may not exceed $15.00.
  64.            All files included on the original distribution disk must be included
  65.       when the program is distributed or "uploaded" to a "bulletin board".
  66.       These files are:
  67.              LD.exe   (LineDrive the program)
  68.              LD.hlp   (the help file)
  69.              LD.doc   (the manual)
  70.              TITLE.scn
  71.              SETUP.exe
  72.              Readme.1st  (this file)
  73.            McS Custom Software reserves the right to prohibit certain
  74.       individuals or companies form distributing LineDrive. If we chose to
  75.       excercise this right the individuals or companies will be notified by
  76.       certified letter.

  78.                              ****  WARNING  ****
  79.    Before installing this or ANY new software, you should back up any
  80.    valuable data on your computer system. LineDrive has been thoroughly
  81.    tested on different systems and is believed to be reliable and
  82.    non-harmful. However, no one can ever be totally sure of the effect
  83.    a program will have on every computer. You as the user are completely
  84.    responsible for determining the fitness or usability of LineDrive
  85.    Fantasy Baseball. Maranatha Custom Software will not be liable for
  86.    damages of any kind, including but not limited to lost sales or profits
  87.    arising from any failure of this package to perform as expected.

  89.                      ******* Registering LineDrive ******
  90.    LineDrive's registration price is $35.00. Registered users get the latest
  91.    release of the registered version of LineDrive. In addition you will   
  92.    receive the lastest version of the LineDrive GENERAL MANAGER'S DISK which
  93.    allows you to trade players or sign free agents. You will also be entitled 
  94.    to any upgrades of LineDrive without charge other than handling costs
  95.    
  96.    MCS feels a real obligation to provide top flight service to our
  97.    registered users. If you have a need for an enhancement to LineDrive please
  98.    let us know. We are very responsive to our customers and we feel that the
  99.    way to make LineDrive the best program possible is to listen to the wishes
  100.    of our users.
